Freestyle rap trainer

Free 8-bar demo · runs in your browser · no download, no account, no microphone

Hit the button and try it for 8 bars. Four bars sit on screen, a laser sweeps the bar you are on, and the rhyme that closes each bar waits at the end of its row - so you always know where the line has to land. This is a short demo; the full trainer, with 102 beats and no limit, is the free Rhymeable app for Android.

    How to use it

    1. Start slow. 85 to 95 BPM gives you time to think of the next line while you are still saying this one.
    2. Aim every bar at its word. Fill the first three beats however you can, then land the rhyme on beat four, where the laser meets the word.
    3. Don't stop when you miss. Keep the rhythm going with anything at all and catch the next row. Stopping is the habit you are here to break.
    4. Ten minutes a day does more than an hour once a week. The skill is speed, and speed comes from repetition.

    AABB, ABAB or AAAA?

AABB is the easy one: bars 1 and 2 rhyme, then bars 3 and 4. ABAB alternates, so you carry the first sound across a whole bar before you use it again - harder, and closer to how written verses work. AAAA keeps one sound for all four bars, which trains your stamina on a single rhyme. The demo uses AABB; the app has all three plus free flow. More in rhyme schemes explained.

    Questions

    Why only 8 bars?

Because this page is a taste, not the trainer. Eight bars is enough to feel rhymes landing on the beat. Daily practice - 102 beats, no limit, recording, streaks - is in the app, which is free to download.

    Does it record me?

No. This page never asks for your microphone. Recording and playback are in the app.

What tempo should I start with?

Around 90 BPM. Why, and when to move up, is in the best BPM for freestyle.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in any modern mobile browser. Use headphones so the beat doesn't drown you out.
